Seed time and Harvest

When God created the earth, a spiritual law was established. This law is found in the first chapter of the Bible:

11And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit-tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.

12And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

To get a good understanding, I will be expounding on God’s method of doing things. It is called, “The Law of Seed time and Harvest”. This method which God has chosen for this planet will remain as long as the earth remains in existence. Everything produces after its kind and the seed is in itself. It works that way in everything.

Here is an example: the seed of strife is in strife itself. If you get into strife with someone, it will create more strife. If you give love, you can reap love. The seed is in itself. Yes, that’s the way it works!

That is the way the Kingdom of God works:

26And he said, So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground;  27And should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not how.  28For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear.  29But when the fruit is brought forth, immediately he putteth in the sickle because the harvest has come.

You release the seed out of your mouth. When you speak, it is the seed which goes into your heart- the human spirit- and there it begins to grow and produce. Mark 4:15 shows that the heart of man is the soil or ground. In verse 28, the earth (the heart of man) bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade then the ear, and after that the full corn.

In Mark 11:23, Jesus tells us the principle of the Law of Faith:

23For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

This is the way the Law of Faith works using God’s kind of faith. When God created the heavens and the earth, he used his faith to bring the unseen into the natural realm.  God released a seed (said) faith believed that it would happen, and the words became life.  I’m talking about planting the seed of God’s Word into your soil (the human spirit). God’s Word is the incorruptible seed, which has the necessary within it to produce a harvest. It is the life (Zoe) of God which produces the fruit.

Sow It The Way God Said It

I was taught to tell it like it is, but later I learned that this was not a Bible method of doing things. The Bible’s method requires you to say what the Word of God says. If your wants or desires are in line with the Word of God, then say it the way you want it. When you see lack and problems in your life, speak abundance and peace. When you sow the right seed you get God’s best. Search the Word of God, find the promise and plant that seed into your heart. Start planting the seed for a harvest.

Most people believe that all you have to do is plant the seed and wait for the harvest. Like every seed, it needs to be watered. through daily confessions. This keeps the weeds out of your harvest. You may say what weeds is he talking about. Words of unbelief cause weeds to grow in your garden. The Law of Seedtime and Harvest says that everything produces after its kind.

There are also two other laws which will effect your harvest:

  1. The Law of Sin and Death
  2. The Law of the Spirit of Life.
The Law of Sin and Death came through the fall of man in the Garden of Eden. This law produced sin. God intended for man to rule over His creation.  Listen to Genesis 1:27-29:

27So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. 28And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. 29And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you, it shall be for meat.

Notice that God had blessed him and provided everything that the man needed. in chapter 2, verse 17-18 the curse enters into the garden as the result of man’s disobedience.

…… cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life; 18Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field; 19In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.

Since the fall man has had to work the land with the sweat of his brow. To this day there are those who have two to three jobs in an effort to provide for their families. This all came about through one man. Sounds quite a gloom, but here is the Good News.

Listen to Romans 5:12, 17-21:

12Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: 17For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.) 18Therefore as by the offense of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one, the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life. 19For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. 20Moreover the law entered, that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound: 21That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so, might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.

Through we lived according to the Law of Sin and Death, another law was present while we were still sinners.

Are you ignorant of the fact that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death?

We were buried therefore with Him by the baptism into death, so that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious [power] of the Father, so we too might [habitually] live and behave in newness of life. For if we have become one with Him by sharing a death like His, we shall also be [one with Him in sharing] His resurrection [by a new life lived for God]. We know that our old (unrenewed) self-was nailed to the cross with Him in order that [our] body [which is the instrument] of sin might be made ineffective and inactive for evil, that we might no longer be the slaves of sin. For when a man dies, he is freed (loosed, delivered) from [the power of] sin [among men]. Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, because we know that Christ (the Anointed One), being once raised from the dead, will never die again; death no longer has power over Him.

For by the death He died, He died to sin [ending His relation to it] once for all; and the life that He lives, He is living to God [in unbroken fellowship with Him]. Even so consider yourselves also dead to sin and your relation to it broken, but alive to God [living in unbroken fellowship with Him] in Christ Jesus. Let not sin therefore rule as king in your mortal (short-lived, perishable) bodies, to make you yield to its cravings and be subject to its lusts and evil passions.                     Romans 6:3-12

In conclusion, Romans 8:3-4 says: therefore, [there is] now no condemnation (no adjudging guilty of wrong) for those who are in Christ Jesus, who live [and] walk not after the dictates of the flesh, but after the dictates of the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life [which is] in Christ Jesus [the law of our new being] has freed me from the law of sin and of death. For God has done what the Law could not do, [its power] being weakened by the flesh [the entire nature of man without the Holy Spirit]. Sending His own Son in the guise of sinful flesh and as an offering for sin, [God] condemned sin in the flesh [subdued, overcame, deprived it of its power over all who accept that sacrifice], so that the righteous and just requirement of the Law might be fully met in us who live and move not in the ways of the flesh but in the ways of the Spirit [our lives governed not by the standards and according to the dictates of the flesh, but controlled by the Holy Spirit].
