Christians must grow from the baby stage to the man stage. A baby Christian is (1) looking for God to help him; and (2) who are crying to God to do something for him. The language you talk to babies is different than the language you talk to a mature man. A baby, child, 5, 10 or 12 years is not full grown and cannot enjoy the life of a full grown human being. This is what happens to many Christians. They still want to be fed with a bottle. We have a lot of work to do.
Jesus gave us the necessary credentials to back up our prayer. Why did Jesus come? Saving us from sin was a means to an end. His goal was to have a spiritual family.
John 3:1-7: “There was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. This man came to Jesus by night and said to Him, ‘Rabbi, we know that You are a teacher come from God; for no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him.’ Jesus answered and said to him, ‘Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.’ Nicodemus said to Him, ‘How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?’ Jesus answered, ‘Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not marvel that I said to you, You must be born again.'” (Emphasis added)
Hebrews 12:9: “Furthermore, we have had human fathers who corrected us, and we paid them respect. Shall we not much more readily be in subjection to the Father of spirits and live?” (Emphasis added) God is the Father of spirits.
2nd Corinthians 5:17: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new.”
James 1:18: “Of His own will He brought us forth by the word of truth, that we might be a kind of first fruits of His creatures.”
1st Peter 1:2-3: “elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in sanctification of the Spirit, for obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace to you and peace be multiplied. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.”
We are not from the seed of man, our mother and father. We are born again of the Father of spirits.
1st John 3:1-3: “That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, concerning the Word of life–the life was manifested, and we have seen, and bear witness, and declare to you that eternal life which was with the Father and was manifested to us–that which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ.”
1John 5-:11-13: “And this is the testimony that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in the His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life and that may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.”
If you do not know you have eternal life you will never live like you have it. It is not a promise. It was promised before the foundation of the world! Now that you are in Christ you have eternal life. If this is true, Jesus was truly the Son of God. Jesus gave His life for you. Why are you still sick?
Ephesians 3:20: “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.” Not according to the power in Heaven, but the power that is with us. We have received the Holy Spirit to make us a blessing. If you have truly received Christ you are a blessing.
Mark 16:17-18: “And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick and they will recover.”
It does not matter what happens. It is what you do with what happens. Every Christian should be casting out demons. Some people think that all of the demons are in Africa. Demons are everywhere throughout the world. There are more demons than human beings.
We have the eternal life. You receive the life and nature of God in your spirit when you are born again. You do not have two natures. You have one nature. The old nature has been supplanted by the Spirit.
1st Corinthians 3:1-3: “And I, brethren, could not speak to you as to spiritual people but as to carnal, as to babes in Christ. I fed you with milk and not with solid food; for until now you were not able to receive it, and even now you are still not able; for you are still carnal. For where there are envy, strife, and divisions among you, are you not carnal and behaving like mere men?” We are not men. We are spiritual people.
2nd Peter 1:3-4: “as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.”
He has already given us His divine power! We are associates of the divine nature of God, the God kind of nature; not the man kind of nature. Christianity did not begin at the Cross. Christianity begin with the Resurrection of Jesus Christ.
1st John 4:17: “Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world.”
The Gospel of Jesus Christ is about the life Jesus has made available to us. When you find out who you are, you will be living a life which depends on you — not who. Once you discover this life it will change the way you live. The Name of Jesus is the Key to every door. If you use the Name of Jesus there is no stopping you. Nothing is impossible when you use the Name of Jesus.
1st John 4:4: “You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you, is greater than he who is in the world.”
Everyday of your life you will have success. You are not going to overcome — you have overcome because “Greater is He that is in you than he who is in the world!”
When are you going to start praying for others? Don’t be satisfied with the lower life. Be a mature man or woman of God.
1st Corinthians 2:6-13: “However, we speak wisdom among those who are mature, yet not the wisdom of this age, nor of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing. But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages for our glory, which none of the rulers of this age knew, for had they known, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. But as it is written: ‘Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man, the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.’
“But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes the deep things of God. For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God. These things we also speak not in words which man’s wisdom teaches, but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual.”
This is special communication for the full grown man/woman. The Holy Spirit was given to us so that we might know. John 16:13: “However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.”
Full grown men and women do not get sick. If you are full grown and get sick because you have been working to hard for the Lord, you need to rest. We speak health! In the Spirit you don’t say ‘I want water.” You say, “I drink.” You cannot limit yourself to the language around you.
We speak wisdom, power and strength. You do not need to pray for strength. The Lord is the strength of your life. Psalm 27:1b: “The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?”
We can say with the Apostle Paul: “Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am to be content.” Philippians 4:11.
Jude 1:20: “But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit.” Refuse to talk fear. What you say is what you get. Build your life from your mouth as a Christian.
Five things to do to help you develop your divine nature:
- Knowledge of God.
Acts 20:32: “So now, brethren, I commend you to God to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified.”
The Word of God will build you up.
- Meditation on the Word.
Don’t just read the Scriptures but meditate on them. This will change your life and the Word will get into your system.
1st Timothy 4:15: “Meditate on these things; give yourself entirely to them, that your progress may be evident to all.”
- Praying in the Spirit.
1st Corinthians 14:2: “For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries.”
The Spirit of God does things your mind cannot comprehend. You are speaking mysteries in the Spirit.
1st Corinthians 14:4: “He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church.”
Edify means to “build up.” So when you pray in the Spirit you are also edifying yourself and building up yourself and improving yourself.
Romans 8:26-28: “Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God. And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”
The day you receive the Holy Spirit you have the language. The language is in your spirit. Switch from your brain to your spirit. If you will do this every day you will become unshakable, immovable!
- Speak in wisdom.
Wisdom is the Word of God. It is for our good. I am declaring that I am blessed. I am a success and not a failure. The Word of God is working in me. Declare the Word of God. Talk God’s talk. We are surrounded by too many negatives. We are miracle workers. God gave us gifts and His gifts are miracles. We are children of God.
- Looking at the unseen.
2nd Corinthians 4:16-18: “Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.”
You are a healer from God. 2nd Peter 1:19: “And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.”
Scripture is a more sure word. What is the picture God has given you? Can you look at the unseen?
“As far as your eye can see then I give unto you.” Genesis 13:15 (Paraphrased)
